I tried
After a brutal work schedule the last couple of weeks I decided to head home early on Friday. There is a local lake that I have caught some really nice perch in and I was hoping I could catch a few more. I never have caught big numbers in this lake, but the ones I do catch are pretty good.

And just for good measure, Brian caught this giant Pike!

I fished a new lake on Saturday. Although it had tons of potential and I marked a ton of fish, I just could not put anything together. I tried for crappie and perch. I caught a couple large mouth bass but it was not a great representation for this lake. I might have to give this one another try in the future.

Some nice looking perch, I wouldn't mind a bucket full like that
I went out this morning at a lake near me and the fish were not hungry, it was a beautifully day to be out

Much the same for us. My wife and I were out Friday. Beautiful day to be on the water, a lake where I expect to catch crappie, but we only got four plus a perch. Marked a lot of fish, but they wouldn't take the jigs we trolled at them. The whole summer has been below average for crappie for me.

For those that are wondering, in the background you will see a line counter rod. It is something new I have been working on since crappie camp.
I have a ton of them from big lake fishing and walleye fishing. I'm now using them to get a "no kidding" run depth on my lures.
So far, it has worked great. I've taken perch and crappie on this setup. No guess work on how deep I am running my pushing rods or my pulling rods.
I'll be tying some knew rods for these this winter but I like the setup so far.

Dang, I would love to get into some perch like that. Even if it were only a few. Those are nice ones.
