Shearon Harris Sep. 28 Fish in the cooler
My wife and I fished SH today from about 9 am till 2:30. Caught 3 fish and 3 chips, so we're having fish and chips tonight. Water temp was 72, although I am wondering why report that since it's at the surface. Beautiful day on the lake. I only saw one jetski. Plenty of company at the ledge we were fishing in 20-30 fow. Tried the 50-50 method and it seems to work, if only to pick a starting depth. Caught most at 14 feet on 1/32 jig with a tail and a minnow. Caught one of the elevens with a dead minnow. Missed a couple of late freights and one broke my line, so, I'm thinking Mr. Whiskers. Not used to monitoring for grass on my line, so there were times we probably weren't doing too well because we were dragging a large salad. Found bait and saw what looked like a big mushroom of bait ten feet deep and the same across with a " cap" and a "stem". Few fish under it, though and I didn't have a spoon tied on. Oh well. The bite was light, but probaby perfect for you spider riggers, as fast as you can pull your line up. Takes me too long to get to my rods, I guess. Hope ya'll had a great day, too.
