Mouting down image transducer on trolling motor issue

I have mounted my Garmin DownVu transducer but the trolling motor skeg over lays the front of the transducer by an inch or so. I have attached pictures. Is this going to cause me problems?

I'm guessing the 2d piezo is probably in the front so it may show up on the 2d image...(It would be at the very top of the image and probably just mixed in with the surface clutter)...

I would suggest trying it and see what shows up ...

I think you will be fine with that placement but a lake test will confirm it. Post some screen shots if you get a chance ! Brian

I got out on the lake on Sunday at it worked fine. Having the down vu came in handy. I was able to find and catch some decent crappie and a bonus walleye. Thanks for your input .
