Thank You Humminbird Customer Service!
Back a few weeks ago my 998 swarmed on me just 4 months outta warranty. I called HB customer service and told them the trouble I was having. I sent the unit in and was told that the problem was caused by "water damage."
Now don't ask me how a water proof unit gets water in it. My units are BABIED! Only thing we could figure was that with all the hot weather we were having at the time, when I brought the hot unit into the air conditioned camper, condensation may have been the culprit. The head unit was FRIED! We're talk'n anchor material.
Now remember this unit was just 4 months outta warranty and looked new. I have been an avid HB guy for years and owned NUMEROUS units. I am also a crappie guide when I'm not pushing barges up and down the river. Having a unit down puts a kink in that for sure!
That was the bad part, now for the good part.
I'm not gonna go into detail about what Humminbird did for me. I'll just say that after this experience there is NO QUESTION in my mind that Humminbird values it's customers and stands behind their products 100%! I'll also add that their Customer Service Department is unsurpassed in the industry! You can take that to the bank!:ThumbsUp
