Been a lurker too long I decided to go buy what I needed to start tying jigs. Didn't start out to well but after a couple they got easier. Now I'm ready for the real test to see how the crappie like them!! The little black and green one was the first one. Lol. My daughter who is 8 made the pink and black one all by herself!! Thanks for all the info here.
Looks good for your 1st ones.The one on the left looks the best.The guys on here will help you anyway they can just ask.
They all look good, I really like the pink/black/green on the right but I don't know why.
look good enough to catch fish keep working on your wrapping of the body make sure that you lay the Chanel and start from the head and wrapped back and then go forward with your wrap it will look more even when you finish.

Nice job for a new guy! Let me say when tying marabou sear off the barbules from the stem, stack that until you have enough for the jig. Then pinch it to tie in where the length is right and cut the end your gonna tie in off. Tie it in then and your on the way. I only use a stem in maybe 2% to 5% of my jigs as I will only use ones that have a stem so thin that I feel it will not really matter, but if you tie marabou without the stem the action is better!
Again good job and I believe your jigs will catch crappie!
Thanks guys I'll take any advice I can get. It's funny how it's so addicting. I can't wait to get out on the water and try them out on the ole crappie!! Thanks again all the information on here is great!!
Just wait until you catch one on a jig you tied, LOL! Also just wait until you start to find out about just how much different materials are out there for tying, then you see something you don't have and think, I could do this or that with that stuff, then you buy some and on and on! They look good and look like they will catch fish. Practice doesn't make perfect all the time... but it gives us the excuse to continue to try (even when the wife says they look good enough). I've been tying for about 26 years and I have yet to come up with every color combination. They keep making more colors on me!!!
