Lake Hickory 9/13
Don't always let the clouds fool ya and think its gonna rain all day. Took my step-son Matthew out on Hickory so he could get some more practice shootin docks, and we faired pretty well with the fish and the weather. Got on the water at 7am fished till 5pm. We fished all of my normal docks and the ones that have bush produced at least 2-4 keepers each, and that was about all that was there. The bite was slow and very lite, if the line slacked as if the jig hit the bottom, I told him to jerk it was a bite! We were catching on BG threadfin shad and blue pearl in water 10-20 fow. We put 20 keepers (10" avg) in the box. It was is a joy to take someone out who enjoys fishing as much as I do and watch them learn how to catch them when they are not really biting all that well, yet!!! I told him it will only get better from here on for a while as the water cools and they move in to fatten up for the fall! Until next time tight lines, or in our case for the day slack line to all and hope they will be mrbiguns:cheers2
