Never been to Paint Creek before but always have heard it was good for crappie fishing. Was planning on going on a weekend trip maybe the first weekend in October. Any suggestions about this lake or comments about experiences of this lake would be greatly appreciated.
Fished it a lot when I was a kid. I always bank fished the end by the bridge for 753. I would catch mostly gills, crappie, and the occasional bass in spring. Now that I own a boat, I stay around the Dam end of the lake.
Love paint creek......... the best advice I can give you is to not just go blasting across that lake in a boat without getting to know it well. you can be out well away from the bank and it be very shallow. it wont be hard to figure out what to do. just look at what the others are doing. its pretty heavily crappie fished atleast from what I see when im there. They had a pretty bad fish kill either last year or the year before. Aint sure how that has affected it as I haven't been there since that happened. Good luck.Quote:
