Some gar today! Haaaa! U gewbers thought it was another BBQ thread
How ya like Wolf Lake?
Its a nice lake. I can see it being an awesome place to fish without much wind and plenty of structure. But for now the gar have taken control. It takes the fun out of crappie fishing when it's like that. I knew of one clump of cypress trees holding some fish and i jig fished them to start. It was only 5 trees and 3 sets of cypress knees. We kept 2 fish there and caught a short fish or two. After that we put the minnow poles out and burnt through 12 dozen minnows only keeping 4 crappie(the rest were gar). Believe it or not the 12 and 13 inch fish u catch have half there tails bitten off and big notches out of there back. Those fish in there have a tough life. Ha.Quote:

They do have a tough life there, It's been a long time since I fished it, but I always had better luck pushing jigs.
Hindsight is 20/20 but i would power troll jigs if I could do it again. Moving on to Grenada now. Hope u can join usQuote:
