Longview Marina last Wednesday
My son (8) and I only had about an hour to fish so we stopped into longview and went in to pay for a dozen minnows and dock fees. They didn't even charge us dock fees because we were only going to be there an hour and the bite had been very slow. Paid for 12 minnows got about 35...It took me 5 minutes to find the right brush pile but when we did we both couldnt keep 2 rods in the water.
A guy on a jetski that was out there with his wife and father-in-law rode up and said "I'll rent a boat for you guys if you want to go out on the lake where the fish are" and I told him thanks but we had found them... he didn't believe me so he sat there and watched us... We literally caught a fish on every single cast and only had to throw back 3 or 4 dinks... we caught fish on the 2 minnows in the bucket that were dead.... I told my son that we had to leave as soon as we ran out of minnows or I'd end up spending forever cleaning 2 limits of crappie (60)...
Best day of catching I have ever had and I got to spend it with my kid outdoors (not playing xbox)...
I told him that his Attitude had to be one of Gratitude because we knew who gives and takes away and who created fish in the first place....
It was a good day.
