I would like to know the closest and best lake to Fort leavenworth that I could fish from crappie from the shore. Thanks. I have not had a chance to fish Kansas yet.

Perry lake might be a drive for you. I've caught lots of crappie in the outlet below the dam on minnows and jigs. I like it there when they're running 100 to 300 outflow. Right now, it looks like they're running 200.

Thanks Sea Ark!
Used to be tons of crappie in Warnock and Atchison State Lakes, both in Atchison and both easy to fish from the shoreline.
A little bit of a hike from ya, but about 45 mins to your east (across K-92), Smithville Lake. If you head up US-169 then East on MO-W... The "W Bridge" that crosses the lake, fish from the rocks on the bridge. You'll catch crappie, white bass, most everything there. Good Luck!!
Thanks all. I appreciate it.
Tongonoxie lake has crappie not far from you
Thanks blackdog, hope it is good there?
