Im sure this is a long shot but thought I would give it a try anyway`

the "new to me boat" came with Zercom ZF40 digital flasher and not ducer, I have looked and looked but with no luck in finding a ducer. I know I can get a Hawkeye DF for around 80 bux and the HB 650 for around 95 bux, so If I could find a ducer for lot cheaper I would go that route but don't seem likely to happen. I just guess I will replace it with either a cover over the hole or a HB650 indash. Don't really need it cause my 898 is mounted on console so it would be redundant but no big ugly hole in dash to look at. Just thought I might throw it out there if anyone had any knowledge of one of the transducers out there

Yep but no where to find a transducer that says it for the ZF40

Been searching Larry......... Humminbird bought out Zercom....they no longer make or sell them or any parts. Your right would be a long shot to find a ducer. It might help if you knew what the ducer number was though

Does your 898 show depth while on plane?? Mine don't because they recommended mounting it on the jack plate as to not hit anything. I want one to see depth while running, pretty much all its used for tho. I watch my maps but some lakes aren't mapped, being able to adjust the contour shade on the 899 is a nice feature as well, just shade anything 5 foot or less and you are good to go.

Might check with ricki on the electronics board here too, he might can tell you something that will work, he's always changing ducers around.

Yea Rees it does show while runnin all the way up to 50 so far, I just put it on where another ducer had been and never touched it and it was reading first time out, but it is down where it could be took off if hit something. That is kinda why I wanted to find a ducer for the zercom but no luck, guess will bite the bullet & get a HB650. Have found a hawkeye brand for 12 bucks cheaper but think will just stay with HB

John you can get a in hull puck ducer for depth and a Y cable so you can have depth at speed for your 899.
