My new boat Project.

Picked up a 16ft Lowe boat a week ago. Its a Side console boat, but will be taking that out and making it a Tiller boat. Plans are to lay it out like the War-Eagle side pulling boat. Livewell will be on the starboard side of the boat rather then the Port side. As the boat has a livewell for the drivers seat now. So plumbing is there and don't see moving all that to the port side.
Boat has factory floor so no wood there, but new sides will be aluminum angle and plywood. Keep the weight down as much as I can. And may just skin that frame with 12 gauge metal and even be less weight then 1/8th in plywood and glass.
Will be looking for a Tiller motor for it later on. Up to a 50 HP and hoping to find a good used one. If not will just wait until next spring and put a new tiller 50 HP on it.

Some places I would rather not put the Lund so this boat will be put in those waters.:fish

Looking good Pete. Show us your build as you go. Got a 16 Alumacraft down back I been thinking of doing the same thing with.

Will try to take pics as I go on it. Also man just found a Pm on the stuff for the cups. And for the life of me had forgotten about it. You should have reminded me. I'm getting where its hard to remember if i'm washing or hanging out. Or fishing and sleeping.

It is a forum dedicated to aluminum boats. There is a ton of good information there and folks who have done everything you could think of doing to a tin boat.

I sand blasted my starcraft and camoed it.

Paint will never come loose
Really built it right.
On board fuel cell in front . New wiring.
Floor marine plywood encapsulated in epoxy .
Stout boat.
Will troll to 1 mph .Turned on a dime
