What Can I Use To Paint Some Jig Heads?

Is there anything I can buy locally, such as in the craft department at Wal-Mart to paint some jig heads? I used to use model car paint. It was an enamel paint, I think, but I don't know if you can still buy that stuff or not. I know there are some things I could order through the mail, but I'm sort of wanting to find something locally. How well does fingernail polish work?

I see you're in SC. Sportsman's Warehouse in Columbia has powder paint, as well as the Bass Pro at Myrtle Beach and Charlotte. I'm sure there are more but those are the ones I'm familiar with.
I've used lacquer before. Dip it, flick it to get the excess off, let dry. A couple coats of white then your main color then some clear. Never tried fingernail polish to paint with but it works.
Even spray paint will work okay as long as you clear coat it. Not as good as powder paint, but if you don't have any other options...

Harbor Freight has about 4 colors White ,black,red,yellow. Its a good price for the amount u get.

You can still get model paints and while they work well if you're going to be using any plastics on them you need to coat with a clear epoxy coat to keep the plastics from melting. The same applies to nail polish.

If you have time to wait on ordering the powder I'd personnally go that route.

For a neat looking quickie paint job, I have used nail polish. Some of the metallics are impressive, Stick with name brands and they are very durable.

Thanks, guys. I will be in Columbia tomorrow for a Grandson's birthday and I will stop at Sportsman's Warehouse while I am there. It won't be but a couple of miles out of t/ way. I didn't know they had the powder paint there. That sounds like the way to go. Smoothlures, where in the store will I find it? A good many years ago, now, I used to live in Winnsboro and would pass through Ridgeway from time to time.

It's always been in the back left of the store, not on the wall but in the area after the isles end on some black wire displays with hangers. There's a bait fridge and some kayaks and canoes ect right near it, cross the isle to the fishing side and it'll be in there.
I lived in Winnsboro while I was young, moved to Blythewood, and came back to Ridgeway though I'm closer to Blythewood, it's still a Ridgeway address. Small world!

you can use any pain even latex any rattle cans anything like that paint jig heads if you're going to use latex make sure that you put a clear coat over it such as vinyl clear or hard as nails or something like that.
