Muskrat tight-lipped
It was a gorgeous evening to be on the water! That was by far the best part of the trip too. I only caught four crappie with the biggest one maybe 9". They all came on my jigging pole flinging a 2" Gulp Alive black shad. They weren't tight to the lily pads in 12-14 FOW, but instead were out suspended away from the edge in 16-17 FOW, down closer to the bottom. I had to "pendulum" the 1/16 oz. chartreuse jig to get them to hit. Lost lots of tails to small gills too. I could see them everywhere. That will be a good place to take Sophi for her first fish I think. No pics this time, but if there were, they would be of the scenery, not the fish. :biggrin

Hey YD, at least you got out & caught some fish.

Sounds like a good time, at least your out trying

Sounds like there's a couple of people that are having a season like mine. I think I can count on one hand the times I've gotten out to fish. Shameful, just shameful.

That's okay, at 5 pm, I got done with my chores and hoped to do some fishing. Daughter has a friend coming over, Brian has a wedding to go to, Luke's allergies are acting up, J.B didn't want to go. Believe it or not, I couldn't find one person on short notice. Headed to my dad's tomorrow. Taking him to Hamlin lake. Might troll for some walleye but crappie and perch are also on the menu. Will write a report when I return.
