Fishing in the Summer
I know its hard to get some good fishing in the summer months because of the heat. But SOMEONE has to be fishing! I try to go as often as I can, 1-2 times a week at max. I mainly frequent Lake Monticello, but my luck has gone downhill and the Monticello bite has gone south. I fished wateree for the first time on my boat last week, and I must say, it wasn't crappie but I had a 5gal bucket full of bream in 2.5hrs + a bonus 18in catfish! That's not even the kicker! I fished about 200yrds from the boat ramp just across the water. Are there any other anglers out there that fish wateree often or at all? Even murray that know what they are doing? I would love to tag along anytime during the day or have a good night of fishing like the last fall crappiefest I went to. That's an experience I have never forgotten and can't wait to experience again. The current one in oct will have me going nearly 3hrs to attend but I plan to try!! PM me post don't matter! I have a boat and truck or just rods to use and will buy bait! I just have the need and want to fish.

There are a few that fish Wateree and you see a few reports from there, just not many this time of the year. I fished Monticello for the first time this year and had a blast pulling in the cats!! A bucket full of bream is a big plus any day. The fish I'm finding are hugging close to the bottom, the biting ones. Seen a lot of fish holding in the top of brush piles but none were biting jigs. Wish I had stopped and picked up some minnows. Hope you can make the fall event in Oct, should be a day of good fishing and eating :)
