Anyone been out to Lake Monroe lately that can tell me where the Thermocline is currently setup?
I was there a couple weeks ago and saw it finally starting to set up. I was beginning to wonder if it even would this year. Any, depending on where you were on the lake, I found it to be 16-20', getting deeper the farther down the lake you went. I did not go all the way to the dam, so it could be deeper or non existent for all I know, down there.
How can you tell where it is?
Its shows up on most electronics. If your sensitivity is set correctly, it will look like a consistent cloud or heavy line, usually 14-25' deep in our waters. The farther north you go, the less likely you will find one. Years like this, with a mild weather pattern, it may not form at all.
OK, I think I have seen this in the past. I thought my fish finder was having an issue, thanks.
When you first get to the lake, adjust your sensitivity to where everything disappears from your screen and then turn it back up one level. I do this almost every time I get on the water. This is especially helpful in water with a lot of sediment in the water, like muddy water.
I'll write this down fillet*, I never adjust my sensitivity. That could be the reason I don't mark many fish:dono
