Anyone fish this area? I have heard people mention they fished it long ago but nothing recent. Just looking for somewhere new to try and had no clue if it is still "fish-able". Also heard that it might be electric motors only? Thanks in advance for any help.
It is electric motor only. Here's some info from the Mo Dept. of Conservation.

very anecdotal but I read that all the Mississippi R oxbows suffered badly in 2011 and 2012 due to the flooding. Catfish ok but crappie and bream were most affected. May not apply here however. You probably could call the MDC agent for that area. They are usually very helpful.
That's my old stomping grounds. It is electric motor only. Don't know how the fishing is anymore, sorry.
Thanks guys.....anyone know what their rule is on the electric motor? Can you still have outboard attached but just make it "inoperable" or does the boat have to be free of any type of gas motor? I have been on lakes that were both ways and for whatever reason it always seems hard to find any specific written rules. MDC site just says "electric motor only". Not sure I will ever make it over there but trying to keep options open that are close. Thanks again,
Most mo lakes you can have the outboard attached
Talked to conservation agent today and he said you just can't crank your motor at any time. I have been on some lakes that you had to either take the prop off or remove the gas tank to make the motor inoperable.Quote:
