Michigan has a lot to offer
We are blessed to live in Michigan. Every single one of us live within 10 minutes of water that hold a multitude of species. You can go to the lake with one thing in mind, get there and realize the bite is off for that species but there are tons of others that are biting.
I left my house at 3:15am on Saturday and met up with Kevin at his house in G.R at 5am. We loaded up his buddies boat and headed for Grand Haven in search of perch. The lake was calm with very little wind. We hit a spot just outside of the pier heads and Kevin quickly had the first bite. We really had to search around to find the fish and stay on them. It wasn't fast and furious fishing but we did manage 20 decent sized perch and a bonus smelt mixed in for good measure.

We did manage to find the worlds largest biomass of Gobi's. We caught and killed as many as we could (feeding the seagulls in the process).
After the perch died off, I tried to pass on as much salmon trolling knowledge as I could. Kevin managed to catch this tiny little guy on a jet diver.

We did have one other fish that hit a high diver (about a 6lbs salmon) however the net guy (I'll take the blame) couldn't get the fish to fold up in the tiny little net Dave had on board.
All in all it was a fun day on the water with a group of good guys cutting it up. Even Kevin's dad made a guest appearance.
