Spent the past few days bass fishing at Wilson and caught good numbers but the bass continue to be in rough looking shape. Allot of real skinny smallmouth and many with several battle injuries. Game and parks put in 50 thousand redears recently so hopefully that will help. Time will tell I guess. Here is one missing an eye!
Stripers are tearing everything up in that lake. Hopefully it gets about 8 feet of water here soon to give the baitfish someplace to hide. Lake is lower than I've seen it for a long time. We did find some walleye that looked decent a couple weeks ago...nothing over 16" though.
Yah seems like western ks some lakes are keeping water and others aren't had a guy tell me cedar bluff is up 4 ft.
I have a lot of family around Hays and we have farm ground south of I-70 and north, on the Saline River. All of the big rains this year have been south of I-70. They've had enough north to keep the crops rolling, but farm ponds and the river never really got anything substantial.
I actually heard Cedar is up 6-8 ft. Haven't been out there for years, so not sure though.
I also heard that they're working on Wilson's Dam. I'm not sure if it's true or not as we talk to some guys that tell us they're draining it as fast as water comes in to work on it, than we talked to the game warden and he said he's not heard of anything about it.

Yah I guess we didn't include that we are talking about up that much in general not up above conservation level. Either way areas that were dry grew vegetation and timber in the last few years are covered with water now which is much needed cover!
Hate to see any lake down below normal pool level.
