I am gonna venture and say they are in the shad family. I really :dono I just want it to do its job on the end of my hook and catch a slab crappie!! :biggrin

We have a small pond with some Koi and goldfish. We started throwing our leftover minnows in at the end of the day. Then we see what we can net up when we go again. Oftentimes, we'll catch a bunch of mosquito fish. A bit smallish, but they have a broad head and hold a hook well and seem to live longer than the store minnows. Crappie seem to like them, too.
