We all get so much help here on CDC so I just wanted to personally thank everyone for the help I have received....especially lately from PawPawGene and the other I believe was "G"......PPG suggested to me that when I remove the boat off the truck hitch that I turn the wheel on the "trailer tongue jack" perpendicular to the trailer tongue.....I had always turned the wheel parallel to the tongue....see the picture.....this one little suggestion has helped me a lot while putting the trailer back on the truck hitch.....why didn't I ever think of that.....thanks Gene.....

The other thing, I think "G" mentioned it somewhere, was to buy a trailer hub with bearings all greased up ready to put on.....I thought, we carry a spare tire, why not bearings......I know I worry a lot about having bearing problems maybe at night, or on a lonely road or a weekend when you can never find a parts house open....well, that same thing happened in 1958 to me & my buddy......we had gone halves on a ski rig (1958 14 ft. Glasspar with a 40 Mercury) and one night the bearings went out.....15 miles from town on a deserted road.... the boat got left beside the road and off to town to find bearings.....he had just bought a 1958 Olds 88 convertible, white, red interior with 3 deuses on top of a rocket 88....at least we rode in style.....we were out there at midnight with flashlights, laying on the ground, sawing and chiseling the bearings off the axle.....not fun.....so, today I went and bought a complete bearing hub for a spare ($35).....now, if they go out, I just pull the bad one off and slip the new hub on......it is a good feeling to be prepared.....here are a few pictures of that boat (my first) with my buddy (& his girlfriend) and me.....I am the skinny one in the second picture at the wheel....all of 135 pounds....20 years old......the last picture is on Grenada Lake in Mississippi, May, 1959.....and I did catch a few sacs.......on shiners & a cane pole......Thanks "G".....
