What if ya break off 40-50'? I ain't gonna go to the bank , break out my tape measure, my stake, my line, and my clip, then unspool the reel, and re calibrate it with new line. Ain't gonna happen!!! :)
It's cool if ya want to set em up initially tho!!! Better have a great fishing line sponsor if ya do it the other way!!!
That would work great with braid until ya get a big cluster!!! :)
I aint missed my linecounters one bit.
Been doing it like that for 4yrs now, only I just mark off 50ft. Not sure I can walk a 100ft. If I should happen to cut the line I just splice some on with a Albright knot.
I got em, but think I caught just as many fish with less hassle when I was using bobber stops at 60 feet as a reference and guessing from that point. There is lot's to be said for blind dragging. Big fish yesterday came off of a 6ft Ozark spinning rod and a Sonora 2500 reel with a long cast plus 15 or 20 pulls of line out. The line counters didn't do near as good.
Power pro Depth Hunter line, changes colts every 25 feet to 100 feet and the starts over. Also is marked every 5 feet with a white and black mark. I am using the 40/10 and it is dead on with the charts , makes it easy to duplicate.
Thanks.......What do you use for depth charts?
I've just kind of been winging it.
