That guy's interesting.
Yep thats for sure. They could not have chosen a better person for those beer ads.
Well.......except Dos Equis beer is made in New York........
Now THAT is interesting!! :yikes
What?????
Dos Equis was created toward the end of the 19th century in Mexico. In Spanish ordenal numbers for events, anniversaries and centuries are written with Roman numerals. So even the the brand is called Dos Equis, meaning Two Xs, what the XX actually represents is the number twenty. The twenty in question here is the 20th Century as the beer was first developed and marketed on the eve of the 20th Century. Most of the mass production beers in Mexico, like XX, Corona, Tecate, et. al are based on Czech or German style lagers although they are much less flavorful and often have less body than their European counterparts. Many mass market Mexican brands such as Bohemia, Modelo, and Corona were first brewed here by Germans or Czechs.
Cuauhtémoc brewery, owner of the XX brand, prodeuces dos versions of XX a clear called Dos Equis Lager and a darker one called Dos Equis Amber. Actually both are lagers. If you walk into any bar or restaurant in Mexico and say "lager" they will bring you the lighter colored XX.
Well..............hmmmmm.
The label says brewed in New York (or so I thought). Or says "Plainfield (?), NY".......Maybe I be's mistaken! Won't be first time. I also thought Heineken bought 'em. Might be wrong about that too.
Hmmm.
Wife just told me I was wrong earlier today too. I guess that's twice!!!!! :)
I think one of the larger American distributors is in New York so that may be where the confusion lies.
As many know..........I'm easily confused!!! :)
u dont use em cause u cant afford em fishin everday !! heck u'd have to come out of retirement to pay for minners!!!! lol !!!!!!!
Rochester High Falls makes a ton of Really good beers. Plus over in Utica, NY there is a brewery that makes Saranac and Brooklyn Brewery Beers.
All through out the Finger Lakes there are really good Micro Breweries, like Ithaca Brewery. They have a great Nut Brown Ale and bunch of super Hoppy beers.
