Aluminum Bar stock?
Any have a source for aluminum bar stock? I need a couple pieces for rod holders for the pontoon. Looking for 2 pieces 1/2 thick, 1 1/2 wide and 6 feet long.
The plan is to bolt these to the existing rod holder mounts then drill and thread the bar for the rod holders.
Any help would be appreciated

MSC or Fastenal. I get a 15% discount from MSC thru my job, but getting it to you might be a problem.

McMaster-Carr has it, The shipping is as much as he alum.

I ordered some from Grainger and made some extensions that worked great.

Ask your local machine shop. If they don't have it, they will know who does.

I have found it online however the shipping was more than the aluminum. Still thinking of the best way to go

Check with Ace Hardware also, they carry aluminum and you may be able to get them to order what you need. I have found that shipping cost is to high and the prices at our local stores seems high but by time you consider shipping cost it all is about the same.

I'm about ready to buy a couple pieces of cold rolled steel angle, then weld some nuts on the bottom, paint it black and be done with.
The nuts on the bottom will do 2 things one support the bar and two by drilling thru the angle with the nut on the bottom even if the weld didn't hold the holder would be bolted to the angle. On top of that welding the nuts on would be faster than drilling and taping. Down side would be it would need to be repainted on occasion
