smithville question
is there any bite on the camp branch docks?
also, is there a good area around there anybody can tell me about for some catfish bank fishing? would like to take my kids while it is a bit cooler this week so they can sit and enjoy it... would need some directions to an area as i'm not too familiar with the lake.
thanks in advance!

Camp Branch Marina Public docks are only accessible in the winter months. Couldn't tell you the exact dates (something like mid-November through mid-February or something? And sometimes they extend it, depending on ice out.) But it's largely irrelevant if you're wanting to go now. Unless you're a private slip holder or know someone that is. But I have no idea what that bite is like right now.
As for catfishing from the bank....I have no idea.

I see a lot of folks bank fishing around the rip rap at the bridges, but to predict how they are biting is anyone's guess. Just be careful on the rocks and with traffic if you park on the shoulder of the roadway....

The cove at Little Platte marina has decent access to the bank, and it seems like lots of people fish there. There are even some brushpiles in close enough to toss out a jig/minnow under a bobber. Might be catfish there too....good luck
