Tom, does your motor have trim on it? If it does try getting motor a level as you can. If trimmed down to much my Yammy will do that. Think it's angle of float bowl and carb float not getting enough gas and slow to fill back up. Speeds up until gas runs down the motor slows. Just a guess but can't think of anything else that could cause it.
I have EFI. I will check the rpms it surges at next time out. I need to replace the primer bulb. It is cracked and dripped some gas when I primed it. Could be a problem. Engine has about 20 hours on it. New gas regular with stabil added. I don't have a clue. It is under warranty though.
Tom, it could be sucking just a little air there where it is leaking. If fuel can get out air can get in. That EFIhas a stronger fuel pump thus stronger suction. Do yourself a favor and replace with a factory bulb. Little more money but worth it in the long run. When you attach it to the tank side, point the discharge side straight up and prime before attaching motor side hose. Youdont have to hold over your head or anything just pointed up, expect to get a little gas on you so be careful.
Engine, tank and fuel line came from BPS off a Tracker. Line and bulb are probably both cheap stuff.
