Anybody ever spun a prop?

Was out with the family for a boat ride yesterday and all of a sudden, my motor reved up like it was about to blow, and the boat just fell on its face. Luckily, had a buddy with me, and he's got the same motor. (25 yamaha), and for some reason, he actually had a wrench stowed away. We traded the props and my boat ran fine. Got to looking, and the rubber/plastic hub was messed up. So my question, can I get the hub replaced at somewhere like props plus, or should I order a new prop? Hate to wait all weekend, and then find out monday, that it can't be repaired. Thanks.

If its a stainless I would get it repaired, if its aluminum then it might not be cost efficient to work on that one.

Props was open today but not so sure they would service you real quick. Replace the hub. Good to go

X2. Exactly right. If its aluminum rebuilding it will cost the same as a new one. I just went through this with mine.

Did the same first time out with new mother! 4 way lug wrench will work.

Wish I'd thought to try em this morning, figured with it being Saturday, and the day after a holiday, they'd been closed. I'll run it by there monday and see if they can fix it. Thanks

Fish Conway enuff and I Gurantee you will spin a prop.

A new solas will cost you about 60 bucks online and you would probably have it by mid week. A rebuild would probably cost at least half that much or more.

The hub is $39, and the labor to have it changed out is another $40. Like RCC said, you can get a new prop for between 60 and 80 bucks.
