Fished refuge this morning. Had a pretty fun day. Weather was awesome! Didnt catch any magnums, but over all most were pretty nice. Threw a few back. Wore the gar out and caught 2 of the biggest I have ever seen and landed them with 14ft slater trolling rods with 6lb test. The fight was on! Had a cousin with me, we had a blast.

Where are the Gar photos? They fight and eat well too! Looks like a mess-o-Crappies.

Man didnt take a pic of the gar. He had all my lines tangled, wind was blowing like crazy and water was splashing everywhere. Got them off the hook as soon as possible! Lol. Are they really good to eat???Quote:

Those gar are fun to catch but will make a mess of a spider rig setup in a hurry some nice crappie there congrats!
