I'm wanting to try trolling crankbaits. The closest lake to me is Glendale, but it's just filled with stumps that would make it impossible. I've never fished Patoka, but where is a good spot to put in at? Any tips for this lake?

If you're wanting to stay out of the stumps, you might look at Painters or South Lick Fork, as well as the main lake. The lake is still up over summer pool, so going up the Patoka River at all will probably give you headaches.
I can troll bandits all the way to Kings Bridge with little to no problems. and like trolling thru the timber and following the creek channel next to the timber. If you get snagged,,,back up and 9 out of of 10 times, the crankbait will come off by pulling it off the opposite way it was snagged as the timber is now soft and spongy. Little Patoka arm is also good out of Osborne at times. Got to get the bait in the cover if your going to catch fish sometimes. You can watch the bandits bouncing off timber a lot of times. Fun!
