I use a Nor Vise, but sell the best vise under $150 which is a Peak. Here is a study done a few years ago, but still good!

Do you have a fly shop in your area that carries vises you can actually look at? If so, go there and try them out for yourself. You don't have to actually tie a fly on them to see if they will work for your style of tying.
If that is not an option, check out youtube videos. Haven't checked on vise reviews but there is usually someone that has posted their thoughts or review on just about everything else out there so I'm sure they have vise reviews as well.
I live by the theory that a good vise is just one that does the job you need it to do. Sometimes the extra price spent is just for a name.

You can be very creative with this vise to tie not only flies and jigs, but other alluring creations. The one listed here is a very good deal imo.
If you're happy with just jigs and flies, most vises from reputable makers should work for you.

Check the fly shops and also check for fly tying clubs in your area - actually putting your hands on the vise even if you can't tie on it will help determine if it will be comfortable to tie on!! If it doesn't feel comfortable it takes the fun out of tying.
