We are camping the weekend of the 27th at Stockton State Park with my sister's family. Since I live here I'm expected to be the "guide" Well my record as a "guide" is real spotty on Stockton (just ask ripnlips or baithead). Any advice on where to go over by the state park or what to try would be greatly appreciated.
You can try some of the crappie beds MDC has placed around the lake. There is a map showing where they are on the MDC website, has GPS coordinates.
I catch wallys here and there, don't actively pursue them. Usually on soft plastics fished on a jig for bass.
State brush piles are a good bet 20 to30 ft deep a few walley being caught on the bluffs north of the state park some walley caught by the Adams branch cove,I caught three walley a couple weeks ago up turn back /big sac arm get you some night crawlers an bounce them on the bottom on the rocky points.

Try the small island at the north end of park. Walleye and me like it
Troll up the the little sac arm by the bridge. Keep your line at about 100 to 150ft back.
Walleye can usually be caught around 10 fow with just a jig head and a piece of night crawler about 4 inches Long threaded on.

Around the park and up toward Orleans ramp are a lot of MDC piles in every direction. Keep moving. If fish are on them you will know within 5 to 10 minutes. Try anything from 15 to 30ft. If piles don't work target some of the bigger coves/bays and pull some 300 bandits and #7 flicker shad in 20 to 40ft of water. I'm far from an expert but year in and out at that time in that area those are good bets. Actually good bets all over Stockton at that time IMO. Of coarse with my opinion and 50 cents you still can't buy a cup of coffee.
