Tails

Hey fellows. I don't know much about crappie, still learning. Some of the crappie we are catching has part of there tail tore up. Does that mean anything?

River or lake

Lake hickory.

We were fishing lake hickory. Caught a few in gunpowder with there tails tore up and a couple on the main lake below 127 bridge on main lake. Seems like the biggest ones had part of their tail missing.

Generally that is a male as male crappie clean out a spot with their tails for females to lay eggs. I could be wrong but that has been my understanding.

I called walmart. They said I was crazy. They didn't believe the retailer part.

Yep, that torn up tail is form the spawn!!!!!!
