So my buddy posted a picture on the internet today saying that he caught a decent size "crappie" at Lake Berryessa in CA. It's definitely not a crappie... I was thinking maybe a bluegill X crappie or bass. What do you guys thing? Attachment 165536

I will bite............................red eye makes me say shellcracker and since it is in CA where a lot of big fish of all kinds have come from lately......a big dang shellcracker on a treble hook from most likely a roostertail cause they surely don't snatch fish in CA!!!
