I knew they were spraying some area's like rosemary but there should be lots of grass by now, and heard area's that had grass its dying:yikes. If the fishing goes so goes economy they will crowd chickamagua. I live in tn we have spent 1000's of dollars in scottsboro, and guntersville and with pleasure. Someone stop this madnessnonono
I was up there a couple of weeks ago and did not find grass where I have fished it in the past....thought maybe I was just too early. Hope they don't ruin it like they have Wheeler around Decatur.
Amen ! They also killed off the lily pads last year on wheeler. THERE gone from flint and hwy 72.
I went today. It's coming in. It'll be there. I believe it was the long, harsh winter. It is in the places it normally is in, and I'm sure it will fill in. It just hasn't reached the surface yet in most places, or advanced over to other spots. It's a few weeks behind, but it will be there soon. The lily pads are growing normally, though, now, but they too started later because of the winter and also cool spring.
As far as TVA goes, from what I've heard, they're just going to do the normal spraying they've done in recent years, not the wild kill they did that one time. They really don't have the money, anyway. They'll spray around the docks, ect., like usual. Not 100 percent on it, just word of mouth. I tried to call the folks at the main office in TN, to find out for sure, but got the usual runaround and wasn't able to get in touch with the actual person in charge because I ran out of time and had to do something else. Someone is going to have to invest a day or two of pummeling their offices with constant calling and being put on hold to get someone to actually pick up the phone and give a solid answer at TVA. That's how it works with those folks.
The media people should have found out for their story and included it in their reporting in the first place, but alas good reporting is a dying art. Obviously, the people doing these stories on this subject really don't have a clue of what they're reporting, so that's the reason why we don't know 100 percent how much spraying is going to be done.
But hey, what can I say? it's so much more fun trying to figure if stories on the internet are real or not. Right? You can spend half your day researching that on just about any topic. Oh, the joys of technology, coupled with the human race.
Like said above, it was behind in starting to grow this spring. We finally started seeing it decently growing in April in several spots. I will say there are a few humps that are still bare. It may have something to do with the water being deeper at the time it was really startingt o grow. With all the floating grass getting hung on my crankbaits, there is some growing somewhere!
Ive watched them spray and throw out pellets for the past month around Honeycomb. There is some grass starting to show some places look to be a foot from the surface but these boats have been diligent spraying also see them at the yacht club and Alreds
Sad to hear them spraying honeycomb like that. There's deep water everywhere there, more than just about any place in the lake. I can see around the ramps to get out there, but that's about it. I wish they wouldn't poison there, that's a shame.

I will agree that because of the winter we had, it has taken a little longer for it to come in. And I will note that the last 2 years along the TN River compounds there has been record amounts of grass....
