Hey guys, Do any of yall spider rig in the summer? Is it effective in the summer? Thanks.
Put 29 in the boat Wednesday down here in sunny Florida, water temp 82 deg.
That's good. How was you spider rigging? Was you using a egg weight and a hook? Thanks
In the last 2 weeks I have caught over 170 crappie spider rigging in ALA. I do it year round. I use the 2 hook crappie rigs with the egg sinker in the middle, aka Capps&Coleman rigs. Summer time you have to find the channel ledges with cover and fish along there. Sometimes they are on top of the ledge and sometimes they are off on the deep side. Good luck and let us know how it works out for you.
:hesaid That's what I do also. Very effective in summer. I do it year round.
Thanks for all the advice. Do yall troll slow when it gets back hot? Thanks.
I catch fish all summer long up into late fall when they move to deep brush or ledges, spider rigging standing timber 8' to 15'.
3/4 ounce sinker+ swivel and 18-24" leader with jig. running the sinkers about 3-4' deep. Speed around .5mph
Thanks again for all responses it really helps.
Get you a sunbrella umbrella. A necessity for hot summer rigging.
