Take your bass tackle and fish the bay side. Look for sandy holes in the weed beds and fish em. The trout will lay in wait on the edges. Jerkbaits and senkos will work well. There quite possibly could be some spanish mackerel around as well and casting spoons with short wire are great for them. Freeline finger mullet is very entertaining around redfish and big trout. Just think like your bass fishing and you should fare ok. Great fishery up there. Check the beach side after dark, usually is some shark chasers on the beach at night. Them guys are hardcore. Can always go beach side with some double drop surf rigs and cut bait and never know what will end up tugging back.
What do you want to fish for? Bream/bass in otter lake. Saltwater opportunities every where. Wakulla river is beautiful and manatees are cool. St marks nice. Talquin minutes from crawfordville. O'clock née river has many opportunities. What you interested in?
Wow I didn't know I had so many option. I normally target redfish...but I really don't care. Only thing is I would like to have one fresh fish meal while there...other than that I will glad to not be at work...simple right?
All the restaurants there serve fresh seafood. Red fishing is great in the state park around youth camp landing. You can yak there and hit many oyster bars. If staying the plantation, you can fish the cut and catch most anything. The Appalachicola river is great for reds too. St George surf fishing for whiting and trout is good most anywhere too. You may still be able to catch a few pompano on the east end beaches still in June. I like to surf fish while them women layout. I can't just lay there in the heAt all day so I wade around and fish. Even when it's slow you catch plenty sharks and catfish.
