My cousin and I ate planning on going to the satilla and fishing in kayaks next week. We are going to get some soon dandy and crickets and will be putting in at the Jamestown ramp. Which size and color are best and what do we need to look for when fishing? We normally fish tight line in the ocmulgee so this will be a new experience. Any help is greatly appreciated.
If Spin Dandy, use black, black/yellow, or Crawdad. Use only the 1/8 OZ. You can fish this river just like you do the OldMuddy. If you use a spin Dandy, cut the skirt off at the hook round and put a cricket on. You want the cricket exposed.
You flip a cricket under a cord and do very well or put a worm on the bottom in moving water.

When Reagan Moxley came down from Swainsboro to fish for redbreast sunfish on the Satilla River, he never thought that he'd catch two redbreasts that nearly dethroned the current river record of 1-pound, 4.75 ounces. Although the fish didn'...t qualify as river records, they did qualify for Angler Awards. One of Reagan’s redbreast was 11 inches and weighed 1-pound, 4.02 ounces. The other was longer at 11 3/8 inches, and weighed in at 1-pound 2.22 ounces. Reagan, his father and some fishing buddies have had great success catching monster Satilla redbreasts, and have caught good numbers to fill their cooler too.
