Jordan Lake 5/27/14

Mrs Monk and I fished Jordan yesterday for the first time this year. I lost count; however, I believe we caught 45-50. Not bad for lenght of time we fished. We averaged catching a fish every 5-6 minutes. All of our fish except (1) were 6-9 inches. We had only (1) keeper, 11 inches.

The fish were in 12-18 ft of water and were holding 10-12 ft deep. The water temp was 81 on the surface.

For those of you that attended the Crappie.com Social on 5/17/14 the size of the our fish should be no surprise. The graphs provided by the Wildlife Dept. indicates a large population of 6-9 inch fish with very few 10 inches or longer.

Yesterday was the worst "keeper ratio" I have experienced since moving back to NC.
