Chickamauga Lake... 5-13-14
A crappie fishing trip for Deb and myself Tuesday in the pontoon. It was Debbie's birthday and our first fishing trip since she had a heart procedure late last week. She's made a quick recovery and back out catching fish. We only caught 15 crappie but 12 were keepers. We also caught 4 small drum...2 bream...1 bass...1 channel cat. The best depth seemed to be 15-16 feet. Water temperature was 79-81 degrees. We fished jigs and minnows with the best jig color being a BG Ghastly Minnow Baby Shad. Deb had the big fish going until late when we decided to make a stop where we've caught big crappie in the past. I lucked up and caught an almost 15 inch TARP and much to my surprise had "another" 10 inch crappie below it on the bottom hook. It took us a few to even realize it after focusing on the big crappie. We've been catching quite a few doubles lately - fun stuff !
