Lake Wappanaca?

Hey guys, I was stationed at Blytheville AFB back in the early 80's and always fished Wappanaca. (not sure of the spelling) It was down towards Memphis east of 55 a bit. We used to clean up on the crappie there. Does anyone still fish there or has it dried up? Just wondering. Big lake and Mallard were hot lakes too! Thanks for any reply and good fishin. Steve

I've heard a few good reports from there this year, but none as of late. I grew up in that area as a teen, and before they drained it on several occasions, the bream fishing was outta this world!!!! I hear that's coming back now also.

Thanks for the reply. We used to really get into the big bream on Big lake before they drained it. Loved the backwater river fishing too. Miss that fishin there. Do you still live around there? Take care, Steve
