Volunteer Lake Conway Clean Up

I am looking for some volunteers to help clean up the small debris that is left in Lake Conway. Approximately 400 tons has been removed. What is left is small floating debris that is on the banks. The area that needs attention is the cove that connects the dam to the 89 Bridge. I will provide drum limners to anyone that wants to come out on Saturday and help pick up this small stuff. The easiest ways to pick up this material is from a boat or by walking the banks. I recommend hip boots or waders for walking the banks. I also recommend work gloves. Bags of debris can be dropped off at the debris pile near the dam access. Please let me know if you are going to volunteer so that I can get a feel for how much help we will have. Thanks!

After talking to Dennis and Russ, the plan is coming together a little better. We will meet at Highway Landing (across the street from Bates). Chuck has agreed to to let everyone who is working on the cleanup, launch for free. He is also willing to loan out some boats for the cleanup. So I you want to participate, but don't have a boat, Chuck has got you covered. Thanks Chuck! I will be providing water, tubs, drum liners, and a few dip nets. Please bring the other supplies you may need. We will still dump primarily at the debris pile by the dam access. Thanks for y'all's help! Let me know if any one has any questions. Thanks.

Some folks will be there by 6:30. Others may be a little later. Any amount of time is better than none.
