new humminbird units
I'm selling my current units and looking to get the 859 and 899. And want to link them together. Does anybody know what cables I need to do this? Ethernet and adapters. I have the terrova with universal transducer. But I want the 859 di. Is there a transducr that fits in my terrova. Or do I have to wire it separate? And if I need to do this is there an easy way to do it. Looks kind of tricky the way the terrova slides. Makes running wires tough. Also i read of another more durable transducer I can exchange that is more durable. Any help on this is appreciated. Thanks guys

Jhill10,
You will need:
Two of the AS-EC-QDE adapters (one for each unit)
One of the AS-EC-XXE cables (where “XX” gets replaced by the cable length. They come in 2, 10, 15, 20 and 30-foot lengths)
No, there is no DI model transducer that fits inside the Terrova trolling motors. You will need to install a DI transducer on the foot of the Terrova. I have seen where some route the transducer cable up the slot section of the Terrova’s shaft. Try searching this web site for some posts on it.
There are trolling motor version DI transducers that you can exchange your unused transom mounted DI transducer for. There are two models: XTM-9-DI-25-T and XTM-9-WIDE-DI-20-T. The 25-T model uses the same frequencies and beam widths as does the standard transom mounted DI transducer. The WIDE version uses 20/60 degree 200/83kHz 2D sonar beams (just like our standard 2D sonar). Both of these transducer are made for the trolling motor and also have additional shielding built into them to combat trolling motor interference.

I would highly recommend trading in the stock XNT 9 DI T for the XTM 9 WIDE DI 20 T ...(the trade must be for a new unopened stock xducer)..
The stock XNT 9 DI T has very small 2d beams which makes it very difficult in shallow water (<10') to keep brush in the sonar beams to actually show on the display...
The XTM 9 WIDE DI 20 T has the wider 83kHz/200kHz beams that the other Dual Beam xducers have and that most guys are accustomed to...
While Greg mentions the XTM 9 WIDE DI 20 T is a TM style puck with extra shielding...I'm not sure what you read about the xducer being more "durable"....
You may have read that Transducer Shield and Saver makes more "Durable" brackets for most applications...I don't think Scap makes one for this specific xducer...
You can contact Scap and ask...
http://www.transducershieldandsaver....me/transducers
But, beings the XTM 9 WIDE DI 20 T is already a TM style puck...it clamps right to the foot of the TM...
