Storm, Shmorm, Crappie are biting on Guntersville
Knowing the weather was gonna turn bad, we intentionally fished Guntersville today and putzed around to several "old faithful" spots just waiting for the clouds to move in and the barometer to drop. Probably caught 15 or 16, plus 3 good bluegill at a pretty moderate pace and fished several new areas. Finally when the weather started to turn we went back to one of the old faithful spots, and sure enough the crappie were wearing out a school of baitfish that had been pushed up onto a point. In spite of whitecaps, boat tracking sideways at 1.6 mph, rain, etc... we boated 10 really quick, but then spotted lightning and had to beat feet. 26 total today + 3 bluegill. 24 whites, 2 blacks, 4 females. Fatty at bottom right is 16" female. Caught them on multiple colors, but black/hot pink continues to be my top producer by at least a 2:1 margin.
