Oklahoma Catfisherman, lets discuss all things whiskers in OK country

I am always looking to be a better catfisherman as it can be done all year and be productive and also provide food for the table and is easy for my 2 sons to enjoy with me. We run jugs and fish rod and reel on Ft Gibson but Im looking for some places to go and try with my kids that are in an hour drive or so from Coweta. Ive got an old unreliable boat so Im mostly looking for bank beating spots to enjoy with the kiddos.

But lets also talk all things whiskers, tips, pointers, ect ect. Id like to get something going like we have in the OK portion of this site.

What type of catfish do you guys catch on punch bait ? do you fishing on the bottom or use corks

Sparky ive never had any luck on it to be honest. I want to try some of the Danny Kings and some of the CJs in pantyhose balls on my jugs and trot lines this year. See how it does.

i hit these saturday at Oolagah. tough day on the Big O. 27. all small fish. caught on shad.

Channels, small blues; Yes

We used to jug fish a lot, mostly rod and reel now. We would stop when we would fill a ice chest with fillets. Catfish can be just as picky as crappie, especially flatheads.
