Crappie at the Prom
I am a high school math teacher at Harmony Grove High School in Camden. The kids held their prom a couple of weeks ago and they set some small oak trees (around 10-12 feet tall I guess) in 5 gallon buckets, poured concrete around them, hung white Christmas lights on them, and painted them white. This was part of their background for their prom pictures.
Afterwards, they stripped their lights off and carried the trees in the buckets out to the dumpster. Well, I went dumpster diving!
My parent's neighbor just happened to be clearing off some cane out of her back yard. I rescued that too and tied cane all up and down those white prom trees and sank them today!
I'll bet crappie are gathered around taking pictures right now around those same white trees down at the Fish School Prom. :) Hope so, anyway! GTT

UPDATE: I tried the Prom Hole today and pulled 6 crappie off of those white trees. 5 keepers and 1 small black nose that I was happy to turn loose. Those trees worked. I put them in a place where there was nothing at all except open water about 30 yards out in front of the dam and the crappie have found them. I'm ready for the big boys to find them. Caught the fish on Cajun Cricket Bobby Garland baby shad today. GTT
