Trailer bunks
I saw this product on Shipshape TV and thought it looked sturdy enough to serve as trailer bunks. Did a dealer search and found that Oswald lumber in Leesville SC carries them, so they must be readily available. Don't know what they cost, but no more than you would need it might be worth it to never have to replace due to rotting. Just replaced mine last year, but will check these out next time I need some. They come in larger sizes too in case the 2X4 is not big enough.

At least that would be the thickness you need.

Ray they look good but I looked at the spec sheet page 2 , they require 16" on center spacing for deck use, I've never seen a bunk supported on 16" centers, I think you'd still have a lot of sagging between supports. The bunks on my Toon trailer are about 6 feet apart. Just saying

That is also recommendation for treated wood 2 x 4 on deck application but we use those for bunks. I believe they would work just fine

That was my concern. Whether they had the linear strength to support a boat with the supports further apart. I will investigate the next time I replace my bunks.

If you are thinking about using some of that artificial wood. Buy a piece and support it a few feet apart( like your bunk supports and leave it in the sun for a couple months to see what it will do. Maybe some put some weigh on it. Then you will know if it's what you want.
Just my cent and a half

Maybe there's an issue using pressure treated wood on an alum. boat...dunno. I've only had to re-bunk one boat trailer in my life. (I've changed carpet on the bunks more than that though.) At my age....I'd go back with dried out pressure treated wood on my boat and would bet I'd never have to do it again.:)
