I'm going to put this here because it is about fishing. Trot lines are legal so each to his own but when left unchecked they simply become wanton killers. Found this one at Hillsdale when it wrapped around my trolling motor. No tag, nothing to identify who it belonged to. A nice bass capable of spawning this year is wasted. To whoever owns this line check it daily or take it down
have seen several untagged ones in the bottom of my boat over the years??
Found a trot line at Eldorado lake last year in the trees near Shady Creek Marina, Had some nice channel cat on it and they appeared to have been dead for 2 or 3 days. What a waste!Quote:

Most people are very good at checking the lines, why not lot of work setting them and baiting them. I just do not understand people that go to all that trouble then do not check them.
I guess there is always the case of an emergency that prevent this but they should be a small incidental average.
