Thieves
Went to D'Arbonne this afternoon and my trolling motor wouldn't work. Checked the connections and found that someone in the last week had clipped all the wires and stolen my battery. Filed a report and then later decided to check some boats that are in the neighborhood pond. Lo and behold I found my battery with the clipped wires still attached. Called the deputy again and got the battery back. But the boat has not been registered for nearly 10 years, so unless I see someone fishing out of it, I doubt if I'll catch the thief. Don't know if it's a local or someone who comes in to fish sometimes. I've lived in this neighborhood for 16 years and this is the first time anyone has messed with my stuff. I'm still steaming.

bummer.....glad you got it back though......the guy might come back though...put up a couple game cameras
-
I thought about that but the only ones I have use a flash and then they'd just steal the camera.

How about a few holes in the bottom of his boat then he won't need a battery
-
I thought about that, too, and my nephew suggested taking the boat and see who comes looking for it. This day and age, though, I'd probably be the one arrested.

That's the truth Tbone. Major bummer on what happened.

Very sad, glad you got it back though. Way to take the high road though, had to be hard after going to Darbonne and not having a battery.

Well, Tiger, God works in mysterious ways. When I got back to the landing and tied up to the dock, a couple was there and while we were talking the man stepped out of his boat, lost his footing, and tumbled into the water. He was a big man and there was no way I could pull him up on the dock. I finally got him to hold onto the side of my boat and I pulled him into shallow water where he could stand up and walk out. Ruined his phone but it could have been worse. If I had not been able to fish due to the stolen battery I would have not come back to the dock just at the moment to lend a helping hand.

It's awesome that you could help that man out. I hate that your trip was ruined tho. I hope they catch the low life sucker who stole your battery.

That is great TBone. No one is happier that your battery was stolen, than the man who fell in. Lol.
