Boat won't start

My main battery that starts the motor is not taking a charge I bought a new battery a week ago and this one is doing the same thing,is is grounded out or something just asking for a little input before I take it back to the shop thanks

Is the charger working properly? You can take the battery to an Autozone type store, they can test the actually battery. However, I'm leaning toward that not being the issue.

Are you saying it won't turn over or is spinning and won't start? If it won't turn over, first pull the cover and check starter bendix and make sure it is not staying ingaged with flywheel. If not check all your connections and you may have a starter relay that is not working, need a test light or meter to check if getting power to motor. Use a jumper cable from hot post straight to power stud on starter. If that dosnt spin motor you have a bad starter motor.

If the battery is draining, the switch could have been left in the on position. Switch bleeding through, which would have fed power to the coil, resulting in a power drain

Somebody dont get this figured out soon me and vet may have to take a look at it. Well...vet will. I'll tote his tool bag.

Just talked with vet. He said check to see if the small gear is engaging.
