Water Sports

Guys when I was young we used to ski/kneeboard Henderson, and the Vermilion River. As I get older and realize the Vermilion is not much more than a drainage ditch, and in Henderson the gators aren't really afraid of people anymore...

Any suggestions on where I can take the kids/grandkids to pull them around on a tube or board?

Dubisson Lake, at the rest area off I-49. Seems prime for that. Not too bad a drive from Lafayette. Appears closed, but Dapet and some others say it's open.

False River at New Roads.....

Thanks guys, I have considered False river, heard it can be packed on weekends though. A friend at work suggested Shark Bayou at Cypremort Point.

I have to make a trip to Alexandria this weekend so I may check out Dubisson.

Stopped by Lake Dubuisson on Saturday afternoon, the exit is no longer blocked off, but there is a security guard sitting at the rest area entrance. There were about 15 trailers at the dock and 15 or so people fishing off of the bank. It does look like a nice lake for skiing/tubing.

I thought it might be, because I figured it's deep and clean cut. They used the dirt from that to build the elevated I-49 through that section. That section of the interstate is built up pretty high. When you go, remember, we like pictures.
